Hans J. Wegner CH24 Wishbone Chairs for Carl Hansen & Søn, Set of Six

Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1949 for Carl Hansen & Søn, the CH24 Wishbone Chair is one of the most recognizable and enduring icons of Danish furniture design. Introduced in 1950 and still in production today, the chair perfectly reflects Wegner's ability to combine sculptural form, comfort, and craftsmanship into a timeless design.

This set of six chairs features the distinctive Y-shaped backrest that gave the model its popular "Wishbone Chair" nickname. Inspired by traditional Chinese seating, the design balances elegance and functionality while remaining remarkably lightweight and comfortable.

The gently curved backrest provides support while allowing freedom of movement, and the handwoven paper cord seats add warmth, texture, and durability. The combination of natural materials and refined proportions has made the CH24 a favorite for dining rooms, meeting spaces, and modern interiors for more than seventy years.

Each chair measures approximately 29.9 inches high, 21.7 inches wide, and 20.1 inches deep, with a seat height of approximately 17.7 inches.

Condition is good vintage. The chairs show wear, marks, and minor staining consistent with age and use. The frames display a natural patina developed over time, adding character to the set.
