A striking Pantonova dining set comprising a model 102 G dining table and six model 102 S chairs, designed by Verner Panton in 1971 for Fritz Hansen in Denmark. Originally created for the legendary Varna restaurant in Aarhus, the Pantonova series became one of Panton’s most visionary works, later gaining global recognition and appearing in iconic cultural references including The Spy Who Loved Me.

The design is defined by its sculptural chrome-plated steel wire construction, combining industrial precision with a futuristic aesthetic. The circular glass-top table sits on a geometric wire base, while the matching chairs feature angled sculptural frames designed to slide neatly beneath the table when not in use. The entire set has been later finished in black lacquer, giving it a bold and unified contemporary appearance while retaining its original structural clarity.

The table measures approximately 47.2 inches in diameter and stands 27.8 inches high. Each chair measures approximately 30 inches high with a seat height of approximately 16.1 inches, a width of approximately 25.6 inches, and a depth of approximately 20.1 inches.

The set is in used vintage condition with visible wear, later black lacquer finish, and signs of age consistent with regular use. The glass tabletop is a later replacement. Overall, the set remains structurally sound and visually striking, with a strong sculptural presence.

What we like most about the Pantonova is its radical clarity of form. It feels both architectural and playful at the same time, capturing Verner Panton’s unique ability to push design into a more experimental, forward-looking direction.

As with all vintage pieces, signs of use are part of the story. Colors may vary slightly depending on the light. If you'd like more photos or details, just let me know.
