Danish 1940s Sheepskin Lounge Chair
Danish lounge chair from the 1940s, showcasing the soft organic forms and craftsmanship that define Scandinavian furniture from this period.
The chair features a generously proportioned silhouette with flowing lines, a wide backrest, and substantial armrests that create a comfortable and inviting seating experience. The sculptural shape reflects the move toward more relaxed and organic furniture design that emerged throughout Scandinavia during the 1940s.
This example has been newly upholstered in sheepskin, adding warmth, texture, and comfort while complementing the chair's soft curves. The natural character of the sheepskin works particularly well with the rounded form, giving the chair a welcoming appearance from every angle.
The chair measures approximately 35.4 inches high, 32.7 inches wide, and 39.4 inches deep, with a seat height of approximately 13.8 inches.
Condition is excellent. The chair has been restored and newly upholstered in sheepskin. It presents beautifully and is ready for everyday use.
What we like most about this chair is its combination of comfort and presence. The sculptural form feels distinctly Scandinavian, while the sheepskin upholstery enhances the relaxed character that makes chairs from this period so appealing.
As with all vintage pieces, signs of use are part of the story. Colors can look slightly different depending on the light. If you'd like more photos or details, just let me know.
