A classic PK-80 daybed, designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1957 and manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Denmark in 2014. The PK-80 is considered one of Kjærholm’s most refined and architectural designs, embodying his pursuit of absolute simplicity, precision, and material honesty. Its importance in design history is underscored by its inclusion in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The daybed features a sleek satin-brushed stainless steel frame paired with a deeply comfortable leather mattress composed of square tufted sections. Upholstered in dark brown leather, the surface develops a rich patina over time, enhancing the sculptural presence of the piece. The minimal frame elevates the floating appearance of the mattress, creating a striking contrast between industrial structure and soft organic volume.

The daybed measures approximately 74.8 inches in length, 31.5 inches in width, and 11.8 inches in height.

The daybed is in good vintage condition with light signs of use consistent with age and careful ownership. The leather shows minor wear and natural patina, while the stainless steel frame remains clean and structurally excellent. Overall, the piece presents beautifully and retains its strong architectural character.

What we like most about the PK-80 is its absolute clarity of form. It is not just a daybed but a sculptural statement, reflecting Kjærholm’s mastery of restraint, proportion, and material perfection.

As with all vintage pieces, signs of use are part of the story. Colors can look slightly different depending on the light. If you'd like more photos or details, just let me know.
