Pierre Paulin Pacha Lounge Chairs for GUBI, Pair
A pair of Pacha lounge chairs designed by Pierre Paulin for GUBI.
Originally designed in 1975, the Pacha Chair remains one of Pierre Paulin's most recognizable creations. The design challenged conventional seating by replacing rigid lines and sharp angles with soft, rounded forms intended to create a more relaxed and informal way of sitting.
These examples are upholstered in Dedar Karakorum 001 Ivory fabric, a richly textured textile that complements the chair's sculptural silhouette. The soft upholstery enhances the organic shape while maintaining the inviting character that has made the Pacha a modern design icon.
Each chair features a swivel base with a return function and is finished with a Pearl Gold base. The generous proportions, integrated armrests, and low seating position create a comfortable lounge experience that feels both playful and sophisticated.
Width is approximately 31.5 inches, and seat height is approximately 11.8 inches.
Condition is good vintage. The chairs show wear and minor stains consistent with age and use. Overall, they present well and remain comfortable and fully functional.
What we like most about the Pacha Chair is its ability to feel sculptural without sacrificing comfort. The rounded shape looks inviting from every angle and creates a relaxed presence in a room.
As with all vintage pieces, signs of use are part of the story. Colors can look slightly different depending on the light. If you'd like more details, just let me know.
