Patricia Urquiola Tufty-Time Sectional Sofa for B&B Italia
A Tufty-Time sectional sofa designed by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia.
The Tufty-Time is one of Patricia Urquiola’s most recognizable designs, combining the comfort of a traditional Chesterfield-inspired sofa with a more contemporary modular form. The deep tufting creates a strong visual rhythm across the seating surfaces while also giving the sofa its distinctive character.
This example consists of four individual sections, including a corner section, an armrest section, a middle section, and a matching ottoman or side module. Together they create a generous seating arrangement that works equally well in large living spaces, lounge environments, or modern interiors where comfort is a priority.
The sofa is upholstered in a light-colored fabric that highlights the sculptural quality of the tufted design. Three decorative cushions in contrasting fabric are included, adding texture and visual interest to the overall composition.
Constructed with a steel frame and foam padding, the Tufty-Time is designed to provide substantial comfort while maintaining its structured appearance. The modular design also offers flexibility, allowing the configuration to adapt to different spaces.
The overall length of the long side is approximately 135.8 inches. The corner section measures approximately 68.9 inches in length, the armrest section approximately 43.3 inches, the center section approximately 39.4 inches, and the ottoman or side section approximately 27.6 inches. Depth is approximately 43.3 inches and height approximately 23.6 inches.
Condition is good vintage. The sofa shows minor wear consistent with age and use. Overall, it presents well and remains comfortable and ready for everyday use.
What we like about it is the balance between its bold visual presence and its exceptional comfort. The tufted design makes a strong statement, while the modular construction keeps it versatile and practical.
As with all vintage pieces, signs of use are part of the story. Colors can look slightly different depending on the light. If you'd like more photos or details, just let me know.
