Mario Bellini Duc Lounge Chairs for Cassina, Pair in Black Leather

A pair of Duc lounge chairs, model 405, designed by Mario Bellini in 1976 for Cassina in Italy. With their bold geometric form and innovative construction, the Duc chairs are among Bellini's most distinctive seating designs, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and sculptural character that define Italian furniture of the 1970s.

Each chair is upholstered in black leather and features Bellini's signature modular construction, with the upholstered panels joined by discreet zipper closures along the sides. Thick, loose box cushions provide exceptional comfort, while the clean architectural lines and piped detailing create a balanced contrast between softness and structure.

Originally produced for the European market, the Duc series was never widely distributed in the United States, making these chairs an uncommon and highly desirable find for collectors of Italian modern design.

Each chair measures approximately 92 cm wide, 84 cm deep, with a 43 cm seat height.

The chairs are in good vintage condition, showing light wear and surface marks consistent with age and use. The leather presents well, and the overall impression is excellent.
