Originally designed in 1943, the Model 2255 is one of Josef Frank's most recognizable storage pieces and remains in production today. The design reflects Frank's belief that furniture should be practical, welcoming, and full of character, combining functionality with carefully considered details and proportions.

This example features a white lacquered exterior paired with a green-painted interior, creating a subtle contrast that highlights displayed books and objects. The combination of painted surfaces, solid walnut details, and brass hardware is characteristic of Frank's approach to mixing materials and colors in a way that feels both elegant and relaxed.
