Part of the celebrated Soft Pad Group introduced in 1969, the EA216 builds upon the earlier Aluminum Group designs while adding a softer and more luxurious character. The distinctive padded cushions create a comfortable seating experience while preserving the light, elegant structure that made the Eames aluminum chairs so influential.

Each chair features a polished aluminum and chromed steel frame with upholstered seat and back cushions suspended within the structure. The swivel base allows for easy movement, while the generously proportioned backrest and padded construction provide comfort for extended seating.

The contrast between the slender metal frame and the soft upholstered cushions is what makes the design so successful. It combines the visual lightness of the Aluminum Group with a more relaxed and inviting feel, making these chairs equally suited to living spaces, offices, and lounge environments.

Seat height is approximately 15.7 inches, width 24.8 inches, depth approximately 28.3 inches, and overall height approximately 36.2 inches.

Condition is very good vintage. The chairs show minor wear consistent with age and use. They present well overall and remain comfortable and fully functional.

What we like about the EA216 is the balance between structure and comfort. The design feels refined and architectural while remaining exceptionally practical for everyday use.
