Cini Boeri Strips Modular Sofa & Ottoman for Arflex in Black
An iconic Strips modular sofa with matching ottoman, designed by Cini Boeri in collaboration with Laura Griziotti for Arflex in Italy in 1972. Awarded the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1979, the Strips collection is celebrated as one of the most influential Italian furniture designs of the twentieth century, admired for its innovative blend of comfort, functionality, and sculptural form.
This set comprises two generously proportioned sofa modules and a matching ottoman, allowing for flexible configurations to suit a variety of interiors. Upholstered in black fabric, the Strips is defined by its signature quilted upholstery and soft, enveloping silhouette. Conceived as a continuous upholstered volume rather than a traditional framed sofa, the design transformed contemporary seating with its relaxed appearance and exceptional comfort. The original concealed casters make the modules easy to reposition while preserving the clean, floating aesthetic.
Each sofa module measures approximately 63 inches long, 47.2 inches deep, 24.4 inches high, with a 14.2-inch seat height. The matching ottoman measures approximately 36.2 × 36.2 inches and stands 14.2 inches high.
The set is in good vintage condition with minor stains and light wear consistent with age and use. The upholstery presents well, and the overall impression is excellent.
As with all vintage furniture, signs of age are part of each piece's history. Colors may appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact us.
